Alistair King is the founding creative partner of King James Group, a defiantly independent South African agency network that covers the full spectrum of brand communication.
Since it began in January 1998, King James has won emerging, small, medium and large Agency of the Year 2015. They were also named the Annual’s Agencies’ Agency of the Year 2011/2012/2013 and won Overall South African Agency of the Year in 2011. King James Group recently became one of South Africa’s largest agency networks.
Alistair has always believed in medium-neutral creative thinking and strives to live, breathe and influence pop culture, not merely observe or follow it. This philosophy has made him a serial entrepreneur, having ventured into industries as diverse as music, publishing and, more recently, beehive manufacturing. He has sat at the forefront of South African creativity for close on two decades and has been ranked the countries No1 creative director on many occasions, by numerous publications, surveys and industry bodies. Financial Mail AdFocus named him Agency Leader of the Year 2008.
