Born in the northern parts of South Africa’s east coast, Culoe De Song hasn’t looked back after putting passion in the forefront of his life. His talents were recognised early; he collaborated with Black Coffee on his 2007 album, Have Another One. The following year, he was picked as a worldwide artist to take part in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona, becoming the youngest participant in the Academy’s history at just 18.

Just one year later, Culoe released his European breakthrough EP, The Bright Forest on Innervisions. His emotive, powerful style struck a chord, and several more Innervisions releases followed; 2010’s Webaba, 2013’s Stig Boardersman and 2015’s Y.O.U.D. A prolific producer, he also released three successful albums on Black Coffee’ s Soulistic label in 2009, 2011 and 2013: A Giant Leap, Elevation and Exodus helped to propel him to superstar status

in his home country.

With the likes of Dixon, Âme and Black Coffee helping to champion his sound, it wasn’t long before Culoe became an internationally in-demand DJ himself, making a triumphant Ibiza debut alongside these mentors at Circo Loco in 2015. A hard working touring DJ, Culoe regularly plays across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, taking inspiration for his own diverse productions wherever he goes.
